MEET Jim Davis:

Passionately committed to working hard to improve the lives of all residents in Louisiana's 5th Congressional District, Jim presents a comprehensive profile with a robust blend of professional expertise, community engagement, and a clear vision for future policy directions.
 
With a solid foundation in education and IT, his career reflects a commitment to leveraging technology and knowledge for broader societal benefits. Davis's involvement in community service and church activities underscores a deep commitment to social welfare and ethical leadership. His policy goals focus on fostering national unity, immigration reform, sustainable job growth, lower healthcare and prescription cost, increase police funding, increase teacher’s pay, increase hourly employee livable wages, and addressing environmental challenges.
 
Davis desire is to build a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future for America, highlighting his dedication to public service and community betterment for the citizens of Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District.

 Jim lives in Monroe, and was born in Tallulah. His mother (Ms. Ophelia) was very loving and caring to him and all his ten brothers and sisters. While attending public school in Madison Parish, he received many local, state, and national honors, graduating from Ruben McCall High School.

Jim  received the T.H. Harris Academic Scholarship from Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and matriculated in Computer Science with a minor in Business Administration, earning the degree of

Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies (Computer Science).

Jim worked in corporate America for nearly thirty years (30); working for many Fortune 100 companies, including IBM, Cigna, Aetna, Travelers, and The Hartford Insurance Group. He also worked for city, state, and federal government agencies as a computer programmer, and I/T Senior Consultant, and I/T Senior Specialist; Southbury, Connecticut.

Jim has been a guest panelist as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fundraiser and Banquet, New York, New York.

While working as a full-time employee, local minister, student, and community servant, Jim has served the community in many capacities for several decades, including: Owner of Online Computers, Hartford, CT, President & CEO, Global Computer Services, LLC, Vice-President Hartford Seminary (BMCP), Outreach (Door-To_Door) Ministry Director; Geriatric, Elderly and Senior Care Ministry, Manager (Bloomfield Rehab & Convalescent Center, Bloomfield, CT; Pastoral Care and Christian Counseling, Supervisor; Adult Sunday School Teacher, and Children's Wednesday Night Facilitator, First Baptist Church, IBM Sponsored Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts Organizer (including local, church, and community donations from the state of Connecticut, delivered personally by Jim to Louisiana victims); The American Red Cross volunteer in Baton Rouge during Hurricane Katrina; Volunteer with the Salvation Army, Hartford, CT; Monroe Garden District Storm Relief Volunteer, Monroe, LA; Substitute Teacher during Pandemic and Covid-19 (as a major help to alleviate some teacher shortage) in Monroe City School System due to widespread illness throughout the world, delegate at the Louisiana Missionary Baptist Church Convention, and Greater Louisiana Missionary Baptist Church Alliance, Associate Minister First Cathedral, Bloomfield, CT; Director Men's Ministry, First Baptist Church, Hartford, CT; Associate Minister, Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, and Senior Pastor of Trinity Christian Church, visiting minister at Ouachita Rehabilitation Center, Monroe; and visiting clergy at Saint Francis' Hospital (ER, and ICU), Monroe, Louisiana; maintaining a 3.5/4.0, in graduate studies, at Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven, CT; and 4.0/4.0, at Grambling State University, Grambling, Louisiana.
